The Intrepid 4x5 is a totally modern rethink of the traditional large format field camera. While offering all the features of classic cameras it is super lightweight (just 1.3kg / 2.8lbs.) and incredibly versatile. The latest generation is by far their most refined and advanced. Featuring precise zeroing guides, a full range of movements, Graflok back, removable bellows and reinforced front standard controls with lockable zeroing stops.
Whether you are new to large format photography or a seasoned professional the Intrepid 4x5 is the ideal large format field camera. It is super compact, lightweight and simple to use while offering a huge range of advanced features.
The Intrepid 4x5 will accept all standard copal shutter style 4x5 lenses from 75mm-300mm (75mm requires a recessed lens board).

Features
The front standard has a full range of independently controlled rise/fall, tilt and swing movements. There are also guides to give you complete precision, plus zeroing stops for accuracy.
The rear standard rotates 360° for fast shifting between landscape and portrait and has full tilt/swing movements. It also has a universal Graflok back for use with a variety of different 120 and instant film backs (including the Lomography Instax Wide back.)
Thanks to the aluminum base and rear-controlled linear focus you can guarantee consistent pin-sharp focusing and increased stability, no matter the conditions or lens size.
The ground glass is super bright with a half-inch grid and they offer an additional fresnel that can be fitted, particularly useful with wide angle lenses.
When not in use the camera can be folded flat making it really easy to transport.
The bellows are also removable so can be easily changed or switched for the use of a bag bellows, or to allow the option of customizing your camera.
Materials
Intrepid manufactures and assemble all Intrepid Cameras in their workshop in Brighton, UK.
They use sustainably sourced furniture-grade birch plywood on the front and rear standards of the Intrepid 4x5, finished by hand with a wax/oil sealant to protect the wood.
The base and supporting parts of the camera are made from hard-coat black anodised aluminum. They 3D print the other supporting parts of the camera in-house using high-quality PETG.
Intrepid ground glass screens are ground in the workshop to ensure they are super bright and clear then finished with a laser etched half-inch grid.
The bellows are waterproof, super-durable vinyl with a triple-layered lightproof lining, all hand-folded in their workshop. Intrepid 4x5 bellows are available in: black, blue, green or red.
