Built with a rugged copper-aluminum alloy chassis similar to the Nikon FM cameras for durability and longevity. 

The Nikon FE-2 accepts Nikon's F bayonet mount with over 100 different focal lengths available. The camera uses two S76 or A76 or one 2L76 battery that powers the electro-mechanically controlled manual focus SLR with manual exposure control or aperture-priority auto-exposure. A match needle exposure control system assures that you get the perfect exposure with the help of the center-weighted metering system. 

The Nikon FE-2 has a brighter viewing screen, provision for through-the-lens (TTL) off-the-film (OTL) electronic flash automation with a sync speed of 1/250th of a second.
