Intrepid 8x10 Film Camera MK4 - Black Bellows

Weighing just 2.8 kg  / 6.2 lbs. this is the lightest, most compact 8x10 film camera ever made. Now in its 4th generation and by far their most refined and advanced. This model benefits from a range of new features including precise zeroing guides, lockable zeroing stops, a full range of movements, reinforced front standard controls, quick-to-use locks securing the rear standard and the newly added bail back system for easy loading and unloading of film holders.

Features

• The front standard features a full range of independently controlled rise/fall, tilt, shift and swing movements. While the rear standard has a wide range of tilt both ways. There are guides on the front to give you complete precision, plus zeroing stops for total accuracy.
• While being lightweight, the camera is incredibly sturdy and secure when set up and locked down. The aluminum base and linear focus ensure maximum stability no matter how heavy a lens you use.
• The focusing is rear-controlled making it quick to use when under a dark cloth, while the linear guides allow for pin-sharp focusing adjustments.
• The rear standard is held securely in place with strong magnets and reinforced by 2 lockable clips on each side. Simply slide the clips up and you can remove the back for fast shifting between landscape and portrait. Now featuring a super easy to use bail back system, making film holder insertion incredibly easy and shake free.
• The ground glass is super bright with a half-inch grid and have an additional fresnel that can be fitted, particularly useful with wide-angle lenses.
• You can use all standard copal shutter style 8x10 lenses from 180mm-550mm. You can also use lenses mounted on Intrepid 4x5 lens boards with the Intrepid lens board adapter (sold separately). 
• When not in use the camera can be folded flat making it really easy to transport.

Materials

Intrepid manufactures and assembles all Intrepid Cameras in their workshop in Brighton, UK.

They use sustainably sourced furniture-grade birch plywood on the front and rear standards of the Intrepid 8x10, finished by hand with a wax/oil sealant to protect the wood.

The base and supporting parts of the camera are made from hard-coat black anodized aluminum. They 3D print the other supporting parts of the camera in-house using high-quality PETG.

Intrepid ground glass screens are ground in the workshop to ensure they are super bright and clear then finished with a laser etched half-inch grid.

The bellows are waterproof, super-durable vinyl with a triple-layered lightproof lining, all hand-folded in their workshop. Intrepid 8x10 bellows are available in: black, blue, green or red.
