Moab is part of the Legion Paper family of products, North America's premier distributor of fine art papers and museum board sourced from mills around the world, is committed to developing innovative products, which empower visual thinkers to share their inspiration.
With product names like Entrada, Colorado, and Lasal its easy to see the source of inspiration for Legion Paper's Moab brand. Created in Moab, UT surrounded by the endless red rock wonders of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, the Colorado River, and the La Sal Mountains, the Moab line of archival, digital imaging papers continues to rely on that inspiration to design premium solutions for digital photographers and artists.
Moenkopi [moe-in-koe-pee] papers represent a unique partnership with the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. Moenkopi is a Native-American name which was used to identify a mudstone layer of rock common in the Moab area. The world-famous Fisher Towers seen in many a John Wayne film, were formed in this strata. These unique towers seem to flow from the earth. It is fitting then that Moenkopi would be used to define Moab's family of environmentally-friendly Japanese papers made primarily from Kozo (mulberry) fibers.
Moenkopi Washi Unryu 55 has a soft and classic look with the cloud-like pattern of Kozo fibers. It enhances abundant gesture of dynamic expression to art works.
