Ilford Multigrade Filter Grade 1 - 12 in. x 12 in. Sheet

Founded in 1879, Ilford Photo is known worldwide as on of the most popular manufacturers of black-and-white film, paper, and chemicals.

ILFORD MULTIGRADE Filter Sheets are for printing on Multigrade (and Variable Contrast) papers. Multigrade papers make it possible to produce a wide range of contrast grades from a single type of paper simply by changing the color of the exposing light. Therefore rather than having to maintain a stock of the various contrast grades, the printer only has to keep a single type of paper and a number of filters.

ILFORD have produced a complete set of twelve (12) numbered filters for all contrast grades in half grade steps. These filters do not require any recalculation of exposure times when changing between grades 0 and 3.5, grades 4 to 5 simply requiring twice the exposure.
