Photographer's Formulary Windisch Modified Pyrocatechin is designed to work with slow speed film and gives extremely fine grain, high resolution and normal contrast.
Catechol is a tanning/staining developer that produces with negatives having a brownish with a slight dark look. The staining hardens the emulsion, prevents reticulation, but does not affect the printing quality of the negative.
An alkaline fixer solution such as TF-4 is recommended for achieving maximum pyro stain on the negative. A conventional rapid fix may diminish staining effects of pyro and PMK formula.
Makes 1 liter of each stock solution. To make a working solution, use 1 part stock solution and add 3 parts water.
